Georgina “Jean” S. Eichers, age 89 Cold Spring June 8, 1920 – May 9, 2010 Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Georgina S. Eichers, age 89, who died Sunday at the Assumption Nursing Home. Entombment will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday (TODAY) at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning in the Narthex of St. Boniface Church. The Catholic Order of Foresters, Catholic Aid Association, St. Julian’s Mission Group and Christian Women will pray a rosary at 4:00 p.m. and Parish Prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Wenner Funeral Home. Jean was born in Avon, MN to Laurence and Loretta (Keppers) Thielmann. She married Elmer Eichers on September 2, 1940 in St. Boniface Church, Cold Spring. Jean loved and cherished her family, she was so proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She took pride in being a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to us all. Jean enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, cards, bingo, fishing, quilting, watching the Twins and she volunteered over 2300 hours at the Nursing Home over the years. She had a knack for visiting, even to those she didn’t know well; everyone has a story and she was eager to listen. Jean was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Catholic Order of Foresters, Catholic Aid Association, St. Julian’s Mission Group, and Christian Women. Survivors include her children, Dorothy (Ed) Peine of Princeton, Janet (Frank) Neu of Rockville, Marion (Daniel) Mumm of Cold Spring, Catherine (Terry) Lenz of Nevis, Michael (Carol) of Cold Spring, David (Dots) of Cold Spring, Robert (Jan) of Peculiar, MO, Arthur (Linda) of Spring Hill, Rita (t Mick) Garding of Paynesville, Ralph (Diane) of Cold Spring, Mary Beth (Dale) Woodrow of Aitkin, and t Joseph; 38 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; siblings, Clarence (Emmy) Thielmann, Cyrilla Effertz, Alma Grams, Vaya (Vince) Sturm, Noney (Ben) Plantenberg, Carrie (Arch) Theisen, Marlene Plantenberg, Mary (Lee) Schommer, and Wally (Louise) Thielmann. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer (2008); parents; infant son, Joseph; son-in-law, Mick Garding; brothers-in-law, Ray Effertz, Joe Grams, and Mike Plantenberg. Memorials are preferred.
