Jeanette "Blondie" Weis

October 11, 1951 – June 25, 2011 Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Roscoe, MN for Jeanette V. Weis, age 59, of Paynesville who died on Saturday, June 25th at home after losing her battle against brain cancer. Father Glenn Krystosek will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Agnes cemetery. Family and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond (151 Oakwood Ave. SE). Jeanette was born October 11, 1951 at the St. Cloud Hospital, to Clarence and Gladys (Mackedanz) Orbeck. She graduated from Paynesville High School in 1970 and married Michael Weis on Nov. 20, 1971. Jeanette and Michael lived in Colorado Springs, Co., for one year while Michael served in the U.S. Army. They have lived on the Weis Century Farm since 1972 and purchased the farm in 1984. Jeanette and Michael have three children, Joshua, Faith and Daniel. Jeanette had many, many friends and was known for her sense of humor and quick and sincere smile. She truly loved people and to socialize, which was evident by the endless, and wonderful stream of people who visited her while she was fighting her recent battle with cancer. She was blessed with many talents and will be remembered for her painting, cake decorating, interior decorating, flower gardening, to name just a few. Some of her creative work was evident in her interior decorating at Coyote Moon, Blue Moon, St. Agnes Church, the countless wedding and special event cakes she decorated the past 40 years, and in the beautiful repainting of all the religious statues at the St. Agnes Catholic Church. The world was a more beautiful place because God placed Jeanette on Earth for much too brief of a period. She made many of her friends through her work experiences. She was the manager of the Paynesville Legion and Eden Valley Legion for years. She also worked for Cold Spring Bakery, and her most recent job was interior decorating for Coyote Moon and Blue Moon. Her decorating, particularly for the holiday seasons, raised the ambiance of these businesses to a new level. She is survived by her husband, Michael; children, Faith (Scott) Molitor of Richmond, Daniel Weis (Melissa Gangl) of Paynesville; grandchildren, Brandon, Mason, Hope, Abigail, Zachary, and Josephine; mother, Gladys Orbeck of Paynesville; brothers and sisters, Robert Orbeck, Betty (Jim) Schmidt, Mary (Daniel) Nietfeld, Berni (Noel Harness) Orbeck, all of Paynesville, Luann (Sig Linn) Orbeck of Arcadia, Michigan, Mike Orbeck of Paynesville, Nancy (Daniel Bielejeski) Orbeck of Rockville, Dennis (Betty) Orbeck, Kevin (Kim) Orbeck, and Randy (Mary Beth) Orbeck, all of Paynesville; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Joshua Weis in 1996, father Clarence Orbeck in 1986, and father in-law Alois “Wishy” Weis in 2006.
