Marvin A. Sauer Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 18, 2016 at Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring, MN for Marvin Sauer, age 83, who died Tuesday at Wellstead of Rogers. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Cemetery in Little Falls. There will be a gathering of relatives and friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. Marvin was born in Cold Spring to Steve and Elizabeth (Eisenschenk) Sauer. Marvin served in the U.S. Army for 22 years and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He married Ingrid Daumann in Georgia and later moved to St. Augusta where they lived most of their lives. Marvin was an instructor for the ROTC program at St. John’s University. He had a fondness for hunting and fishing and a tremendous love for animals especially, his beloved dogs. Survivors include his son, Stephan Sauer; step-daughter, Lydia Andren; grandchildren, Erich Andren, Aaron,Samantha and Lyndsey Sauer; great-grandchildren, Maci, James; sisters, Irene (Bud) Reber, La Donna Baker; brothers, Leander (Deb) Sauer, Ralph (Carole) Sauer; many nieces and nephews, and dear friend, Marsha and special fishing buddy, Doug Jacques. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ingrid; brothers, Wilferd and Richard; sisters, Ursula and Isabel.
