Math Worm

March 15, 1919 – May 6, 2011 Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Math William Worm, age 92, who died Friday at the Paynesville Area Hospital. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Cemetery. A visitation for Math will be after 4:00 p.m. on Monday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. The Catholic Order of Foresters and the Knights of Columbus will pray a rosary at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at the funeral home. Math was born in Plummer, MN to William and Helena (Gerres) Worm. He married Ruth Ressemann on September 2, 1950 in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Richmond. Math served his country during World War II as a member of the 640th Tank Destroyer Battalion in the South Pacific Theater. Always busy, Math said “you need a reason to get up every morning,” and was a lifelong mechanic, a bulk fuel distributor for Pure Oil and Union 76 and always there to lend a hand. He was a member of the Paynesville Knights of Columbus Council #3820, Catholic Order of Foresters, retired member of the Richmond Volunteer Fire Department and the Richmond American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; children, Marlene (Mike) Dols their children and grandchildren, Jason (Melissa), Ella and Ruby, Brandon (Jackie), Pierce and Kylie; Charlene (Joe) Niewind their children and grandchildren, Chris (Rebecca), Calvin and Alanis, Bryan (Emmy), Liberty, Ava and Noah, Cory (Amy Kuechle); Jim (Irene) their children, Sadie (Derek) Mueller, Josh; Jan (George) Dingmann and their children, Kassidy, Zackary and Koleby; brother, Elmer (Mary Lou) Worm; sister, Leona (Edward) Winczewski and sister-in-law, Katie Worm. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marie Herges; brothers, John “Jack” Worm, Joe Worm, Ray Worm, Tony Worm; brother-in-law, George Herges; sister-in-laws, Margaret (Torborg) Worm, Viola (Thyen) Worm, Joan (Plantenberg) Worm; grandchildren, Holly and Nichole and godson, Tom Worm.
